Turkey Pepperoni Calzone Recipe
servings: 4 prep: 10 minutes total: 50 minutes
What you need:
**Preheat oven to 350 degrees before starting**
1 frozen loaf of bread (let it thaw 3 hours before using)
or you can use fresh bread dough (we got ours from our local Publix bakery), we bought one Italian bread dough and one wheat bread dough
1 can of Prego's Three Cheese Sauce (for calzone and dipping sauce)
2 tbsp. Parmesan Cheese
1 package of Hormel Turkey Pepperoni
1 cup of Kraft Mozerella Cheese
*Note (option): you can add in other fixings too, like: mushrooms, peppers, feta cheese, etc.,
Spices to use (option):
*if you'd like to use them and sprinkle on the dough
1 tsp. on each loaf of: Italian seasoning, garlic powder and parsley flakes
Directions:
1. From each loaf (either frozen or fresh dough from bakery) you can actually cut the dough in half and it makes two loaves. Roll the dough out onto a bit of flour as to not stick to the counter. Roll out so that the dough is conciderably thin.
2. Sprinkle herbs over the dough
3. Sprinkle Paremesan over the dough as well
4. Spread 1/2 cup of Three Cheese Sauce over the dough
5. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of Mozerella Cheese
6. Place about 20 pieces of Turkey Pepperoni over the cheese, evenly (other ingrediants you choose can go in at this time too)
7. Roll the dough forward, folding the ingrediants inside and as you roll press the edges inside. All this needs to be done so that most of the ingediants stays and cooks inside the loaf. Pinch the seam of the dough together all the way down the dough.
8. Place in the 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
9. Take out of the oven after 30 minutes, Place the rest of the sauce in a saucer for dipping sauce. DEVOUR and ENJOY!
**We followed directions to the Margarita Mix and each had a glass. Great ending to the day :) Yum!!
