potty chair, potty training?!...

...So, today Belle has shown the disapproval of diapers...indeed!...We got her up from her nap and she had tried to take her diaper off and managed to loosen it while having peed on her mattress. She was wearing a onesie so that had ruined her plans of taking it totally off. She has also (throughout the day) tried to tell us that she has wanted to take her diaper off. I think it's helped that we have kept her bottom dry throughout her life therefore she has an understanding that when she does get wet, she knows that she needs to be changed pronto...18 months and we are on our way to try potty training!!! She's been showing signs of this for about a month or so. We got a 'Princess Potty chair' from Ray's parents and today was the first time that we brought it out to show Belle and have her play with it. It has all the bells and whistles too. She's very interested in it. I placed her on the potty and said, "this is where you pee and poopy" and made a streaming sound...now when she sits on it she also makes the streaming 'pee' sound. She just gets a kick out of it...She hasn't pottied in it yet.
Seems like every time she pees or poops she is not afraid to let us know. She likes to lift her shirt, point at the top of her diaper and say, "Oooooooohh"...(really loud might I add)!!...I've been reading a lot of potty training and I can't get enough info. I love to get her ready for important mile stones. This one may not be as hard as I think. This is why...I am reminded that she has never really been hard to ween from anything. She's been quick to let us know-in her way what the next step is :) She's always been a really great kid, very easy going. She's weaned herself from a bottle practically overnight and at 7-8 months was taking a sippy cup and even drinking from a straw at 9 months. She's transitioned into baby, even toddler food early and now into some food we eat at this point in time. She was never into a pacifier either. She'd rather suck her middle fingers...We couldn't be prouder :) I am doing my homework on this as I want her to have the best experience she can. I am hoping with that in mind, she can get the handle of it...most importantly though, at her timing. She always lets us know :) I am reminded that she is no longer our baby, but that this is another toddler stage...I feel a little sad (they do grow fast :(...) She is growing like a weed and is doing so much.

Maybe I should try a 'potty' book with Belle?
